News

[27.11.2009]
Quick update: Since a few weeks we can be reached through jdqirc.net, too.
We also setup round robin at irc.jdqirc.net.

Currently we are working on a new web site and we plan to change our servers over to a new software.
The short downtime of paranoia early this week was the first netsplit in more than 3 months and lasted only a few minutes!

Have fun chatting :)

Hi folks :)
Today we expanded our security server with a proxy scanner.
Connections of clients where open proxies are detected will be declined as of now.
Connections via the tor network however are excluded!
To do this, it is unfortunately necessary to scan for open proxies on login (this is not an attack).
Due to this, our servers execute an ident lookup on new connections again, which could slow down the login process a bit.

Hello!
A few weeks ago Debian Lenny has been released. Thus we will upgrade our servers within the next days completely to the new system.
The following down times are planned. Please don't write mails or the like if you have problems with the network during this time.
Just try again later - we'll hurry, promised!

Update: We're done :)

Today we have a good and a bad news. The bad one first. Psch decided to no longer run his server so currently we are left with two IRCd's.
The good news is that v2px finished reinstalling and reconfiguring his server so now all remaining servers are back online.
Again we are sorry for the few off times we had. Happy idling.

We added another server to our network: stubbi.jxceldolghmq.net. The admin is DrunkenFreak.
EDIT: The server was delinked due to massive security concerns.

Hello!
First of all a happy new year to all of you ;)
Currently we are moving the website to another server and setup a few more servers.
We hope to get a little more structure in our network that way.
Until everything is done, you have to expect disturbances and outages.
If that happens, just try again a few minutes later.

Known problems:
  None :) Have fun chatting.

Please do not be too upset about these temporary problems.
The network will soon be fully available again.
If you encounter any problems, feel free to contact us in channel #lobby :)

Now the .org domain has round robin, too, so you can add irc.JxcelDolghmQ.org to your server list and from there you will be redirected to a server. The .org server is now accessible at paranoia.JxcelDolghmQ.org.
The .net domain will follow in the next weeks, we will be reporting about this here as usual.

G'day,
since our current provider doesn't support editing nameserver entries, we are moving to another domain provider.
JxcelDolghmQ.de is already there and from now on has Round Robin at the irc. subdomain.
That means if you connect there, you are redirected to different servers throughout our network.
This helps minimizing the traffic for each server. Please use this domain only while the others are still hosted by our old provider.
The server called irc.JxcelDolghmQ.de till today, is now accessible at delusion.JxcelDolghmQ.de.
More informations about our servers and their addresses and ports can be found under menu option "IRC".

That is all to report. Everything is working fine and our problems with the services we had in the beginning seem to be resolved.

Greets,

A few days ago we had our first english speaking visitor, so now the website is available in english and german.
To change the language simply use the links at the bottom of the page.

That's all, folks.

Over the last weeks the server kernels were updated. Now everything is as usual and there should be no more netsplits.

That's all, folks.

Since no one else is taking the time to write some news, it is up to me.
The network is online for about a month and everything is stable so far.
The only thing still missing is users... but that will work out fine. With time..

psch ordered a server last week, so that makes three already, but then he reconsidered. For now we'll have to use only two servers as it seems. Bummer ;)

But the reason why I am writing the news is, I just noticed that there is no info on how to connect to our chat servers.. so - here it is:
Either
  • Server: irc.JxcelDolghmQ.de
  • Port: 6667 (SSL: 6697)

or
  • Server: irc.JxcelDolghmQ.org
  • Port: 6667 (SSL: 6697)

That's it for now. See you ;)
